Growth spurts can be difficult enough for most children, but put the chance of Scoliosis on top of that and it can be even more painful than it already is. Children should be screened a minimum of twice in their tween years to ensure that the spine is growing straight and healthy. Catching Scoliosis before it is a problem can save your child a lot of pain and discomfort later on in life. Boys should be screened between the ages of 10-12 and girls should be screened between the ages 12-14.
Typically, it is in your pediatrician’s routine. But you can never be too safe and ask if a screening of Scoliosis has been done. And of course, don’t forget to ask us! Chiropractic Care can help your child’s health and ensure a healthy spine.
